Naderi said the construction process, initiated on the basis a presale budget two years ago, ran into economic, technical and legal problems. Reform in the contracts of the two projects is one of important steps in development of the country, he said.

The projects worth 11 billion afghanis had 84 blocks containing 3,780 residential buildings for housing applicants, he said.

The nine-storey Banayee Township was initiated on 46.9 acres of land in 2014, containing 1,400 apartments and 25 blocks, he said.

Naderi said the Hakim Sanayee Township, launched in 2014, was spread over 51.5 acres of land, having 2,380 apartments and 59 blocks.

Haji Massoud, one of the contractors, pledged his company would try to complete its part and make the township ready for use as soon as possible.
