Taliban lose 3 district chiefs in Herat raid

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Talibaninfo-icon have lost shadow district chiefs for Kashk-i-Kohna, Parsi and Adraskan districts of western Herat province, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) claimed on Monday.

Taliban’s chief for Kashak-i-Kohna district Kakar and his associates were killed in an overnight raid by security forces in. Some weapons and ammunition were also seized by the security forces, MoI said in a statement.

Police spokesman Abdul Ahad Walizada confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News the security forces conducted the raid in Parsi and Adarskan districts on Monday night.

Mullahinfo-icon Hassan, the Taliban-designated district chief for Adarskan, and Mullah Rahmatullah for Parsi district were killed during the raid. However, the police spokesman did not go into details.

Qari Yousaf Ahmadi, Taliban’s spokesman, wrote on his Twitter account that six security personnel were killed in Shindand and Adarskan districts on Monday night.
